Applesauce Cake
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves - 1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts - 1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup applesauce
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square baking pan; set aside.
- Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, nuts and raisins in a medium bowl; set aside.
- Cream butter or margarine with sugar. Add applesauce; beat well. Stir in flour mixture.
- Pour batter into prepared baking pan. Bake for 40 minutes, or until tested done when a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm.

Looks delicious! I bet you could use apple pie spice in lieu of the cloves and cinnamon [work with me - it's what I have in the pantry :D] I like any cake mix that doesn't contain oil and uses applesauce instead.
