We have used straw, grass clippings, saw dust and wood shavings. It really helps. :-)Sue Frelickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13150735651127251014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429758274949022857.post-72049688831441085672013-06-25T07:05:17.873-06:002013-06-25T07:05:17.873-06:00Awww Thanks nancy. These tomato's are called Better Boys. They are "supposed" to be indeterminate. (long blooming) but I don't know. I didn't have much luck starting mine from seed this year so I "settled" for these. They are going to be a medium size tomato. Just wait till next year. I'm hoping to have my own plants to put in.

The weather has been really odd for sure this year. We didn't get our tomato's in until about 6 weeks AFTER they should have been in the ground. Have a Super Day!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01666836930255009486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429758274949022857.post-36265520817134603902013-06-25T07:01:05.597-06:002013-06-25T07:01:05.597-06:00Hi D.Hausmann, We are in NE OK. I don't know what happened but they are blooming and I swear they're only about 1 1/2 foot tall??? I'll have to remember that about the hornworms. I can't stand those dang things. You miss one for a couple of days and the next thing you know, you're missing a WHOLE plant!
I'm still working on the squash problem but so far the tomato's look great!
Thanks for stopping by Buddy!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01666836930255009486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429758274949022857.post-41681373787341901262013-06-25T06:53:19.501-06:002013-06-25T06:53:19.501-06:00LindaG, I must confess.... We've got a Bermuda grass issue and so we've been tilling, raking, digging, tilling, raking, digging... .So that's how the "neatness" happens. And yes, we till. Then I'll plant. And if something doesn't happen to come up or dies, I'll stick something in it's place.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01666836930255009486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4429758274949022857.post-53025870355687976502013-06-25T06:47:33.955-06:002013-06-25T06:47:33.955-06:00Awww shucks Gorges!
